It is really important to me to be an ethical practitioner.

Although the relationship between therapist and client is the strongest indicator of success, I believe you deserve a therapist who is transparent about their qualifications, their development and their membership of regulatory bodies.

I am a trainee psychotherapist studying at The Berne Institute (https://theberne.com/); however I also hold a Level 7 diploma in Transactional Analysis Counselling and certificates for Basic and Advanced Counselling Skills courses, all of which were also taken at The Berne. In 2024 I also gained a Certificate in Couples’ Counselling with The Link Centre, having had the privilege of being taught by the late, great Dr Mark Widdowson (check out the Learning and Growing section for his excellent TED Talk).

I am a member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (https://www.uka4ta.co.uk/about), the European Association for Transactional Analysis (https://eatanews.org/) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (https://www.psychotherapy.org.uk/), all organisations which monitor competence, standards and ethical practice within counselling and psychotherapy for the benefit of the wider general public accessing therapy. I am also insured with Balens, a specialist insurance provider for health, wellbeing and beauty professionals (https://www.balens.co.uk/).

I have at least six hours of clinical supervision per month and regularly attend my own personal therapy. I am also proactive with health and wellbeing choices that enable me to be the most present and the most intellectually sharp therapist I can be for you.
